| The Raphaelsklinik is a hospital of the Misericordia
GmbH, a charitable organisation under the protectorate of the
Bishop of Münster.
The Misericordia GmbH was officially founded 1927 but originated from a religious order known as the Sisters of Mercy of Saint Vincent de Paul who looked after the sick and poor in Münster since 1808. The Raphaelsklinik was built 1908. The building was partly destroyed during the War but rebuilt and extensively modernised over the years. The Order of the Sisters of Mercy underwent many changes but their original instructions remained the guiding principle of the hospital: ’The healing service to men’. Since 1998 the Raphaelsklinik is an academic teaching
hospital of the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität,
the University of Münster. |
